As a matter of fact God could have used evolution to create the universe. With God as the initiator of the big bang, evolution would then actually be possible and therefore true. The one problem with this is that the God of the Big Bang would not be the God of the Bible. The God of the Bible does not use death destruction and extinction before eventually getting it right. He gets it right first time, just as we read in Genesis 1 the six days of creation, and at the end of it all he calls everything “Very Good” (Genesis 1:31).
The idea of evolution and millions of years has only in recent centuries been interpreted in the Bible as a means to match secular views of the origins of the universe with the Biblical view. Early church leaders in the seventeen and eighteen hundreds did not defend the Biblical creation account, and they did not see the issue with allowing the Bible to be reinterpreted in light of the advancing science. This opened the door to compromise, and the results are flourishing today as evolution is now heralded as the best scientific theory in describing the universal origins. Whether you believe in God or not is irrelevant, you simply cannot question evolution and you certainly cannot believe in a young earth, otherwise you are labelled as stupid, ignorant, foolish, against modern science, so on and so forth!
But Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We are not to compromise the Bible for anything in this world, and that includes theories about the universe that are void of God.
So lets look to see if maybe God did use evolution or not. We will do this by comparing the steps in the Genesis 1 creation account to the steps outlined by scientists regarding the evolutionary account below:

It is quite obvious that these two accounts do not match up. In fact they are polar opposites. It’s almost as if someone is trying to mock God and the Biblical account purposefully by creating an origins theory completely contradicting that of the Bible’s version.
The good news about the Biblical account is that contrary to popular belief, christianity isn’t a blind faith, but rather an evidence based faith, where we are commanded to “Prove all thing; hold fast to that which is good” in 1 Thessalonians 5:21. There is plenty of evidence to support the worldview of the creation account, carried out by Christian scientists and researchers who have held onto the truth of the Bible in Genesis and gone out to searched for it’s confirmations. Thank God for these people, and thank God for being God!
